What is frost?

Frost is fine ice that forms when it gets really, really cold during winter time and when the temperature is very low. The grass looks nice when it’s covered with frost then when the frost melts down the green colour of the grass returns.

Other things can also be covered with frost like cars, plants and trees. Some people who do not have carports or garage find their cars covered with frost in the mornings. They have to hose the car down to melt the frost because they will not be able to see anything while driving. It can be dangerous driving with frost covering the wind shield. Here in Auckland, we only get frost and sometimes, we get hail but we do not have snow.  It will be hard for my dad to bring me to school in the morning because it will take time to remove the frost from our car. Other people will have the same problem with frost. Frost is very cold when you touch it. When you step on a grass covered with frost your shoes and your trousers can get wet. You also leave footmarks on the grass which look really nice.

We are learning to write a explanation writing in order. I can do this when I write a explanation writing using the correct structure.

  1. Hi Siu! I like the way that you explained everything about frost.
Can frost turn into an icy cold ice cube?
