My team won the game!

On a cold Saturday morning, my mum and I woke up at the same time. She whispered to me to get changed into my sports gear right away otherwise I will be late for my rugby game. When I was ready we got into the car. As soon as mum turned on the engine, her phone rang.

“Hello!”, mum said. “Yes, yes, we will do that. Thank you”, I heard my mum saying it to the person on the other line. It was actually my coach. He wanted to make sure that we were on the way to the Varsity Field in Glen Innes. He also told us to hurry up because the game was starting soon. My mum drove the car like a speeding bullet. I was glad that there was no police on the road.

When we got there, I ran as fast as a cheetah to where my team mates were. I just got there on time. Whew! Our coach said,”The training starts now. Everybody, go where you should be on the field”. We all quickly did as he told us to do. The referee reminded us about wearing our mouth guards. Then, the game started and we played against Varsity Team. The game went well and it was a friendly game. No one got hurt or injured. I scored only one but I felt so happy and proud of myself because I did my very best.

The other team played fair and they also played very well but in the end, our team won the game. The score was 12-2. My team cheered and congratulated each other for a job well done.

What is frost?

Frost is fine ice that forms when it gets really, really cold during winter time and when the temperature is very low. The grass looks nice when it’s covered with frost then when the frost melts down the green colour of the grass returns.

Other things can also be covered with frost like cars, plants and trees. Some people who do not have carports or garage find their cars covered with frost in the mornings. They have to hose the car down to melt the frost because they will not be able to see anything while driving. It can be dangerous driving with frost covering the wind shield. Here in Auckland, we only get frost and sometimes, we get hail but we do not have snow.  It will be hard for my dad to bring me to school in the morning because it will take time to remove the frost from our car. Other people will have the same problem with frost. Frost is very cold when you touch it. When you step on a grass covered with frost your shoes and your trousers can get wet. You also leave footmarks on the grass which look really nice.

                                                      Why do we hear sounds?

We hear sounds vibrating through the air in the surrounding. Then the sounds goes into our ear and it travels through the ear Canal,Eardrum and then sends message to your brain.

It tells you what kind of sound that you hear. We hear sounds when we listen to the music, when we talk, when birds sing, when babies cry or laugh or even when we yell.

We can tell what kind of sound we are hearing because our brain already processed the information. It is important that we should look after our ears and the eardrum because if they get damage you can become deaf and you can’t not hear any word.

Life can be very difficult
WALT use the correct writing structure. I know I can do this because I can group the information into paragraph.

Why Does My Heart Go on Beating?

Every heart beat is the sound of the heart pumping to push blood around body. The heart pumps oxygen -rich blood through tiny tubes that lead to every part of the body. Because it is about blood circulating in the body, the systems called the circulatory system.

Our heart beats faster when we run and jog because our body needs more oxygen as it pumps blood around the body.  When we get tired of doing exercise and playing, the heart beats 60 to 80 times
a minute so you need to relax yourself so that your heart can relax too.

After blood it pushed to all parts of the body,
it is then pushed back again. It takes less than a
minute for blood to go all round body. Blood has four main components red blood cells, white blood cells, liquid and plasma.

When our heart stops beating we die. We should
look after our body by eating healthy food, by getting plenty of sleep and doing exercises. In this
way, we know that we try our very best to become
healthy people with  healthy heart.
