My team won the game!

On a cold Saturday morning, my mum and I woke up at the same time. She whispered to me to get changed into my sports gear right away otherwise I will be late for my rugby game. When I was ready we got into the car. As soon as mum turned on the engine, her phone rang.

“Hello!”, mum said. “Yes, yes, we will do that. Thank you”, I heard my mum saying it to the person on the other line. It was actually my coach. He wanted to make sure that we were on the way to the Varsity Field in Glen Innes. He also told us to hurry up because the game was starting soon. My mum drove the car like a speeding bullet. I was glad that there was no police on the road.

When we got there, I ran as fast as a cheetah to where my team mates were. I just got there on time. Whew! Our coach said,”The training starts now. Everybody, go where you should be on the field”. We all quickly did as he told us to do. The referee reminded us about wearing our mouth guards. Then, the game started and we played against Varsity Team. The game went well and it was a friendly game. No one got hurt or injured. I scored only one but I felt so happy and proud of myself because I did my very best.

The other team played fair and they also played very well but in the end, our team won the game. The score was 12-2. My team cheered and congratulated each other for a job well done.

I had the best time playing rugby with my team mates and I really enjoy every moment of it. I wish that next weekend, we will win our game again.
